My Style

As an artist based in Leicestershire I pursued my passion for painting, working in acrylics. I exhibited widely in regional and Welsh galleries and attended art fairs selling paintings, prints and cards.

Relocating to mid Wales in 2021 has been refreshing and it’s where I continue to be inspired by my immediate surroundings, my style reflects my love of nature and experimenting. Now I rarely attend  art fairs,  preferring to concentrate on ‘one of a kind., original paintings’ and just a few limited edition prints available to order;  or available through the 'Hayrack Gallery’ Northampton.

Observing and sketching growth habit, forms and seasonal changes  provides valuable source material for future work. A patch of field, an overgrown verge, a derelict area can be a spark of an idea. Elements which bind my works together are colour, texture and a unique unpredictability.

Painting in a looser style is a marked contrast to my formal studies in  textiles, ceramics and metalwork at the Lanchester Polytechnic Coventry; or the  detailed, physically demanding work of crafting traditional leaded panels and Tiffany style lampshades. for many years. My painting practice is mainly self-taught and formulated through experiments.

Being creative is good for the soul and certainly my happy space.

.All original works are signed and certificated for authenticity. Prices range £200 - £650 depending on size, frame or unframed.
